Surge ("the app") is a tide tracking application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is used.
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
Surge does not have user accounts, analytics, tracking, or advertising.
If you grant permission, Surge uses your device's location to find nearby tide stations. Location data is:
You can use Surge without granting location access by searching for stations manually.
Surge connects to the NOAA Tides and Currents public API (tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov) to fetch tide predictions and station data. These requests contain only station IDs and date ranges — no personal information.
Saved locations and cached tide data are stored locally on your device using SwiftData and App Group shared storage. This data never leaves your device.
Surge does not use any third-party analytics, crash reporting, or advertising services.
Surge does not collect any data from any user, including children under 13.
